Booking holidays during term time

In addition to the Schools’ absence policy (for holidays in term time), we strongly recommend that learners in Years 10, 11, 12 and 13 do not book any holidays from school until at least 1st July each year. As most qualifications require assessments/work to be done throughout the year, any absence from school before this date will potentially lead to missed examinations and assessments/coursework that can’t be re-sat on another date.

Result days

November 2024 GCSE – Thursday, 9th January 2025

Results will be given out to learners during the school day. Staff will be available throughout the day to help with any enquiries regarding examination results.

January 2025 Examinations – Thursday, 6th March 2025

Results will be given out to learners during the school day. Staff will be available throughout the day to help with any enquiries regarding examination results.

Summer 2025 (GCE) – Thursday, 14th August 2025

Results will be available for collection by learners from the Restaurant between 9.00-11.00am. After this time they will be mailed to the learners home address that we have on file. Senior staff and the sixth form team are available from 9.00-11.00am to help with any enquiries regarding results and university places.

Summer 2025 (GCSE) – Thursday, 21st August 2025

Results will be available for collection by learners from the Restaurant between 9.00-11.00am. After this time they will be mailed to the learners home address that we have on file. Senior staff and the sixth form team are available from 9.00-11.00am to help with any enquiries regarding sixth form enrolment.

Please Note - If a learner is unable to come to collect their results in person, a family member can pick them up on their behalf, but they MUST have signed written permission from the learner in order to receive the results and a form of photo ID (Text messages or phone calls are not acceptable). Please report to a member of staff at the main reception who will support you with this.

Post results service information

Enquiries regarding potential appeals should be made directly to the Examination Office. Further information will be enclosed with your results, and is available under the supporting documents tab below.

Examination certificates 2023/2024

If you did not return to Emrys ap Iwan, examination certificates for the academic year 2023/2024 will be available for collection from School during December 2024.

Please check back here for collection details.

If a past learner is unable to collect their certificates, they can nominate another person to collect them on their behalf. The ex-learner would need to email exams@emrysapiwan.conwy.sch.uk to notify. In the email it needs to state the identity of the person who will be collecting the certificates and that person should bring with them proof of who they are. Certificates will not be issued to a 3rd party without written permission (no text messages/phone calls allowed).

Examination certificates are very important and are evidence of the grades attained. Please ensure certificates are kept in safe place as it is becoming increasingly common to be asked show/provide them for college, university places and job applications.

Lost certificates

Certificates are confidentially destroyed two years after their issue (as per JCQ guidelines). We are unable to provide copies of certificates, and the Awarding Bodies need to be contacted directly for these. Please note that there may be a fee for requesting copies of certificates from Awarding Bodies.
