Attendance
Attendance is a key factor in academic success. 95% of our students who gain 9 or more A* - C grades at GCSE have an attendance of over 90%. If a student has an attendance of 80% it means they will have missed the equivalent of 8 weeks of the school year - at least a full half term.
Maintaining the highest possible attendance for all students has always been important at Ysgol Emrys ap Iwan. Since the introduction of our rewards system, students are now rewarded for excellent attendance. Research has shown that attendance over 93% increases a students chances of achieving their targets.
Help improve your child's attendance by:
● insist on full attendance. Do not accept trivial excuses
● avoid taking holidays during school terms
● keep absence to an absolute minimum
● holiday dates are available here on the website
